Alzheimer's disease is a type of dementia that interferes with memory, cognitive function, thinking, and behavior. It is degenerative and irreversible in nature and the symptoms usually progress at a very slow pace. Alzheimer's disease usually occurs at an old age (above 65 years) but is not a normal part of aging process. It can even occur in middle age a person that is attributed to several factors. It has been estimated that 5.3 million American of all ages are suffering from Alzheimer's disease.  

The common early symptoms associated with Alzheimer's disease are forgetting things such as names, addresses, misplacement of personal belongings, getting lost on a known route, poor decision making. As the disease progresses these symptoms turn out into more severe one such as impaired writing, reading and even speaking, which may even lead to forgetting to do even the most basic tasks such as eating, drinking or defecating.
